Roadside Sink D, Hays County, Texas
August 2016
Gate Type: FLAT
You could quibble about whether or not this solution feature actually qualifies as a cave. But it has potential if the fill was removed, and it DOES provide habitat for karst invertebrates within its (currently) sub-human voids. As it was an obvious attraction near a park road, it had to be gated. We chose this gate style to be as unobtrusive as possible, and because there was no possibility of bats. Photos © Jim Kennedy.
