This project was completed as part of a Bat Gating Workshop we taught in Pennsylvania. We found this dangerous opening last year, and thought it would be a quick, small project. However, excavations failed to find accessible bedrock on one side of the fissure, and the gate dramatically increased in size. I wish I took a photo of the gaping hole before we started building the gate. Photo © Jim Kennedy.
