Cave with Ladder in It, Bexar County, Texas

This is another fairly small San Antonio cave that the city grew around. It sits on the grounds of a private school, so you can imagine the problems that the administrators predicted. Fortunately, they also realized the value of protecting this unique resource. And we’ve said it before: we like when we can drive right up to the entrance. All photos © Jim Kennedy.

It was a simple matter to place the expanded metal skirt and anchor the headers.
Perpendicular top bars were chosen for strength.
The finished gate includes a removable bar for authorized access.
